Alabama Health System hospitals shut down by ransomware

As of October 1st three hospitals of the DCH Health System remain ‘closed to all but most critical’ new patients due to ransomware hit.

Per system’s website , the hospitals at Regional Medical Center, Northport Medical Center and Fayette Medical Center have implemented our emergency procedures to work around and provide patient care in the event computer systems are not available.

Any new admissions, other than those that are critical are being diverted to facilities in the vicinity.

DCH IT staff is working with federal authorities and third party consulting firms on system restoration.

The details of the attack extent, ransom amour or ETA have not been disclosed as of this writing.
